Are you a big fan of steamboat? Hotpot? Or more specifically...Hai Di Lao?? hahaha

Me and my friends certainly love Hai Di Lao a lot (blogged about a gathering at Hai Di Lao too, you can check it out : here) but there is this one big thing about Hai Di Lao which we totally dislike. 

And that is the:

QUEUE

I'm sure all Hai Di Lao lovers will agree with me on this.

Hai Di Lao's queue is seriously no joke! They even specially set up a snacks bar and manicure station for people who are waiting for their turn.

So, today I will be introducing with you guys a newly launched restaurant called Fu Lin Men Dou Lao 福临门豆捞 which is really similar to Hai Di Lao but yet very differently unique. :)

Originated from Macau (which is where I will be going to next month!!! I can't wait!! haha), what makes Fu Lin Men Dou Lao so different from other steamboat restaurants in Singapore is that all their seafood menu items are served Fresh and Live to ensure that the food quality is in a tip top condition when served!! Furthermore, their steamboat are served in individual pots so you and your friends can choose to try many different kinds of soup base at one go haha. 

The individual pots also makes it easier for people who have dietary restrictions like for example - Me.

As I can't eat Beef due to religious belief, so whenever I have steamboats with my friends (especially during the CNY period), they can only have beef either in only one soup base or we don't have beef at all which will be very sad for beef lovers. 

So the individual pots really helps in such situation *Thumbs up*

At Fu Lin Men Dou Lao, they also have different sizes of VIP rooms for suiting various different kinds of occasions and functions :)

Now the biggest room coming at Level 3..

This particular function room has a room capacity of 30 pax with fully-equipped AV system plus a projector as well! So if you're looking for a good restaurant for company dinner and/or functions, this would be a good choice for you! ^_^

Do take note that a minimum spending of $50 per pax is required in order to reserve a VIP room!

Here's how it looks when you first sit down haha

The herbal tea is not too sweet and neither is it too herbal-ly so it tastes really good in my opinion haha

2 charging ports are available at each table as well for you to charge your electronic devices :)

Wide ranges of alcohol for you to choose from if you're into alcohol :)

There are in total 9 soup bases which you can choose from:

1) Ma-La Spicy Pot ($8)

2) Secret Recipe Seafood Pot ($10)

3) Bone Soup Pot ($10)

4) Chinese Herbal Pot ($8)

5) Mushroom pot ($8)

6) Chestnut Chicken Pot ($10)

7) Tom Yam Soup ($8)

8) Vegetarian ($8)

9) Tomato Soup ($6)

Their soup bases are I would say lighter and healthier compared to the ones served at Hai Di Lao :)

And the one I chose to go for is their most popular soup base - Bone Soup Pot

I love it 100% hands down haha 

Rich but yet not too heavy at the same time :)

You can also ask the friendly waiter there to help you slice the meat from the bones as well so you won't have to kkiap the meat out slowly one by one to eat it hahaha

They have a wide range of sauces to choose from haha and if you don't know what sauce will be good for you, you may ask them for recommendations or have them mix their signature sauce for you as well ^_^

Their signature sauce tastes really good seriously! You should definitely try it out (Y)

Appetizer - Cold Black Fungus Salad ($6)

To be honest, the spiciness was a little too much for me but its spicy in a way that you would wanna reach for it even more although you know its too spicy for you if you know what I'm saying?? hahaha 

Fried Fish Skin ($8)

Try dipping the fried fish skin in the soup for around 3-5 seconds before you eat it! It's damn delicious this way haha. What I like about the fish skin they serve is that it is smaller in size so it's easier to handle when eating it ^^ At the same time it is very fragrant as well! Love it :)

Assorted Mushroom ($14)

Assorted Beancurd Platter ($6)

Consists of: 

Frozen beancurd, Green Tea beancurd and beancurd 

I like the Green Tea one the best :) Tastes the most unique haha

Homemade Assorted Treasure Balls ($16)

The decor is really cute hehe!

Consists of: Squid, Chicken, Pork and Prawn :)

I like the pork and chicken ones the best (Y)

Live Tiger Prawn ($18)

When this dish first came, the prawns were still moving!

The waiters helped to peel the prawns' shell as well! :) Great service and good for lazy bums like me when it comes to eating prawns (or any kind of food with shells in general haha) >_<

Fresh Live Seabass ($45)

Fresh Live Red Snapper ($55)

Both fishes tasted really sweet and fresh but do watch out from overcooking it! 

Beef Lamb Platter ($38)

Beef is one of their signature dishes as well and sadly, I cannot eat so they were really kind to specially serve me a plate of pork! Thank you so much! ^_^

Pork Shabu Shabu

Last dish of the night - Chinese Sausage Claypot Rice ($12)

The sauce that they use to mix their claypot is lighter compared to the ones I normally eat which uses dark soy sauce but surprisingly, it is still very delicious (Y) This is a must try! haha

It was an enjoyable meal and the food all taste fantastic! :)

 I've already texted my friends about this place and jio them to come here for future gatherings haha

All of them ON!! MUHAHAHA

At the end of the tasting, the boss of Fu Lin Men Dou Lao treated us beer as well hahahaha

But I didn't take any of it though cuz I need to wake up early for work the next day >_<
