Ewha Summer Studies Day #15 : Garden of Morning Calm

Back to Day 15 of my summer studies trip in Seoul!! :)

On Day 15, we went to the Garden of Morning Calm which is located at Gapyeong-gun!!

It's an awesome-ly BEAUTIFUL place I swear but it's also "awesome-ly" inconvenient! >_<

The Garden of Morning Calm is about 1.5 to 2 hours travelling time from Seoul but it's worth the time in my opinion as the scenery is really G.O.O.D!!!

No more talking, move on to awesome pictures (with funny and model style poses by YX :P) that requires no editing! *wink*

Seriously, this place is really damn beautiful!!

If you're somebody who really likes nature and beautiful sceneries, YOU HAVE TO COME HERE!!!!!!! But, please remember to check the weather forecast before you plan your trip to this place. You definitely won't wanna come here on a rainy day I swear! 

The day we came to the garden was super bright and sunny! Excellent for photo taking but bad for our bodies because it was FREAKING HOT. But the photos and memories are worth all the sweat hahaha

Directions to the Garden of Morning Calm:

Unfortunately (for those who can't read and understand Korean ><), you will need quite a bit of understanding in Korean in order to find the right way to the garden. ><

Me and my friends had quite a hard time finding the bus terminal cuz the bus terminal didn't look quite what we expected it to look (we thought it will look like SG's bus terminal with nice signage and everything but sadly, no it doesn't).

If you have any trouble with the directions, please ask around! I highly recommend asking convenient stores cuz there are bound to have tourists asking them for directions so their English proficiency most likely will be higher? That's my logic ahh haha ><

Anyway, here's the route that me and my friends took:

1) You need to travel to Cheongpyeong Station by the subway and go out from Exit 1.

We had to transfer to Line 5 which is going to the outskirts of Seoul (not in Seoul technically).

And after an hour of train ride just on Line 5, we arrived at Cheongpyeong Station!

2) After that, you will see a rice padi ahead and a long long road on your left. Either way will work but I would recommend the rice padi because it will shorten your time by a lot. 

3.1) If you choose the rice padi path, walk through the entire rice padi field and walkway until you see the cafe as well.

 3.1) If you choose the road path, just walk straight until you reach a T-junction, turn right and continue walking until you see a cafe.

4) You will see a C2U convenient store opposite the cafe and walk towards that direction.

5) Somewhere in the middle of the road, there will be a public bathing building on your right and you walk into the small alley and go straight until you see a big sign saying Cheongpyeong Bus Terminal (in Korean) and walk through the small alley beside the sign and you'll arrive at the Bus Terminal

6) At the bus terminal, take either 31-17 or 31-7 (we took 31-7) to and alight at the bus stop name 수목원 (sumogwon) to reach the garden!

Bus 31-7 is your bus to Garden of Morning Calm!! :)

Do take note of the timings which the public buses will come to the garden's bus stop to pick people up!! 

There's another set of timings just for shuttle bus service (it's extremely expensive unless if you will be traveling to multiple places which the shuttle bus can bring you to)!

Oh yes and one last tip!

When you're going back to Seoul, make sure to take note of the train's time table below. Different timings may have different final destinations for the trains and the timings can have a pretty big gap for example the 1852 train to SangBong station and the next train to SangBong is at 1940! 

So do take extra note of the timings! It almost gave me a heart attack when we were there cuz we missed our 1852 train (we didn't know that there was timing for the trains) but luckily the Kwangwoon University bound train also passes by SangBong!! Phew!! >_<

That's the end of our Day 15! It was a hot, sunny, beautiful but tiring day haha

I would highly recommend you guys to visit this place definitely as it's really beautiful but be sure to check the weather forecast (gotta emphasize this a lot haha) before you plan your trip to the Garden of Morning Calm!

You can also plan your trip to Nami Island as well together with the garden as the shuttle bus service goes to Nami Island too so you can just pay one price and go multiple places within that day! :)

I didn't manage to have the time to go to Nami Island but I've been there before already so we only went to Garden of Morning Calm this time round!
