What is home to you?

A place you live in or where the soul belongs?

Previously, I was invited to the Awards Ceremony at Joyden Hall for ciNE65 which is a short film competition launched by Nexus in Jul 2011 to encourage young film-makers to exercise their talent and tell their Singapore story and what Singapore means to them. :)

This year there was the total number of entries submitted was 230 which is the highest ever since the launch of ciNE65 :)

And this year's theme was "Believing . Home" which is derived from the idea of "believing in Singapore because this is home" :)

The award ceremony was graced by many local celebrities such as Edmund Chen, Irene Ang as well as one of the Ah Boys to Men, Joshua Tan and etc haha

There were a lot of awards given that night and initially, I was kinda sad that the film that I've voted didn't win any of it until the very last award - Overall Best Film, they announced the film I voted as the winner!!!!!

I was like "YES!!!!" when the winner was being announced hahaha

Unwavering

Synopsis: Unwavering is a film based on an old cleaner, who reminisces about the times when she set out to achieve her dreams and aspirations. Even in the monotony of her days present, she endeavours with unwavering belief and commitment; both cornerstone characteristics of our Singapore Pioneer Generation.

The reason why I voted for this film was because it has depicted both dreams and reality in a very down to earth way which I can very much relate to. It's like as though the dreams are our minds, and the reality is our physical body. We can be dreaming and imagining how we want our life to be or how our life used to be, but in reality this is where the physical me stands.

All the films were well done and constructed when I was watching all the films during the voting period, but this particular film is the only one that has caught my heart because the emotions were so deep and well captured within just 3 minutes.

Here is the full film of Unwavering! :)

Thank you ciNE65 for broadening our visions on Singapore as well as the wonderful experience that I've had throughout this season's journey :)
