Hello everybody!! I'm so sorry that I took so long to blog again after my Vietnam trip cuz I fell really sick after the trip. >_< I was having super bad body aches that even panadol couldn't cure and all I could do was lie on my bed and rest >_<
But no worries, I'm back up again and I am trying my best to blog about the remaining days in Korea which I've yet to blog about before all my school work starts to pile up like crazy T.T
So let's go back to 1st July 2014, which is my 9th day in Korea :)
Our itinerary for today was to visit Itaewon so after school, me and YX went to Sinchon station to travel to Itaewon but we did not know that we went to the wrong station!!!
Sinchon (of the same name) has two different stations which is running on different line, one is the Gyeonggui line and the other one is Line 2 which runs around the heart of Seoul.
So end up, we were at the station running on Gyeonggui line and there's only one train HOURLY.
We were contemplating whether to turn back and walk to the Line 2 station or just YOLO and just try this station, but we end up tapping into this station (partly becuz the train was about to come liao :P) hahahaha
The gantry at this station looks different from the ones that runs along the heart of Seoul
Even the station itself looks different hahaha
In the cabin hahaha
Transferred to Line 6 towards Itaewon :)
Alighted at Itaewon and this is where we start roaming around!! :)
Just for your information first, we didn't cover the entire Itaewon as there are some areas which we weren't interested in e.g. Antique Street (we have got no money and no luggage space for antiques haha)
Alley Market :)
As we were roaming, we encountered this clothes store which has cheaper clothes than Ewha area!!! For the same clothes design, this shop is selling at 7000won whereas Ewha is selling at 10000won!! Ewha is actually one of the cheapest fashion streets area in Seoul so it's really surprising for us haha. But then again, it's only this one shop that's selling cheaper than Ewha though hahaha
A random cafe which has a super cool design!!!
YX decided to take out a cup of Americano as this cafe was having 20% off for takeaways hahaha
Alcohols are really EXTREMELY CHEAP here in Korea compared to Singapore!!!
A random super mart which we visited. It's pretty interesting how they keep the vegetables fresh with the mist. Rarely (or never) see this in Singapore super marts before.
Random cute graffiti hahaha
After walking around Itaewon, we went back to Ewha to meet our teacher at ECC haha
She brought us out for a city tour and we took the shuttle bus to Gyeongbukgung station from Ewha! :)
The magnificent Gyeongbukgung!!
Beautiful flowers along the road
Statue of King Sejong
Behind it there's a small entrance to the showcase the story of King Sejong :)
At Cheonggyecheon Stream! :) Beautiful area ^_^
We end up walking all the way to the National Library at City Hall from Gyeongbukgung Station!
It was super tiring >_<
Model Pose 101 lolol
Oh ya btw, our teacher also bought us bread from this shop called Eric Kayser which normally sells super expensive breads but on the 1st of every month, they will have 50% off for selected breads according to my teacher.
Our teacher brought us to the shop itself as some of us wanted to get more of their promotional breads but they were all sold out by the time we go so if you would like to enjoy good quality breads at cheap price, be sure to check this one out on the 1st day of each month and do come early in the afternoon or something to avoid any disappointment! :)
This marks the end of our city tour with our teacher and after that, we went to have some Samgyupsal at Saemaeul again with some of our new friends which we met here in Ewha Summer Studies since we were already in City Hall hahaha
Oiishiidesu seriously!! :)
Kimchi stew with pork! :) Very delicious as well haha
Now moving on to Day 10!
We started our day with lunch at Toksokchon again hahaha
You will see me going to Toksokchon once a week :D
Ordered the Black Chicken Ginseng Soup which I highly recommend because it tastes much better than the ordinary Samgyetang!! (Y)
After lunch, our itinerary of the day is Changdeokgung! :)
We bought package tickets to go into both Changdeokgung and Huwon (Secret Garden) which cost us 8000won per pax in total, but we ended up getting the Korean speaking tour for Huwon as we arrived too late and there's no more English speaking tour sessions anymore >_< (better than nothing la huh haha)
Do take note that you can only enter Huwon with their tour group as they do not allow individuals to roam around Huwon by themselves, so please take special note of their tour group timings if you would like to include Huwon into your itinerary.
For more information about the tour timings, please visit this website.
Now, it's picture spam time! :)
(Pictures speaks louder than words man!)
Waiting to go into Huwon!
We went into Huwon first before visiting ChangDeokGung as Huwon closes one hour earlier than ChangDeokGung!!
End of the Huwon tour! We moved on to visit ChangDeokGung!
At the outside of the main hall where the emperor use to sit in. :D
Isn't ChangDeokGung and Huwon beautiful? :)
I would highly recommend you guys to include these two places into your itinerary cuz I really enjoyed my time in Huwon with all the greenery and calm atmosphere! :)
It's really a good place to relax and chill! In fact, Huwon is meant for royalties to chill from all the politics! So it's really super calm with the nature :)
End off with a picture of me as 正一品 hahaha! Just jk >_<
It's the highest ranking among all the officials in the past. :)
Till the next post...CIAO and stay tune!!!~~~ :)
