Day #06 in Seoul! :) It's a (mini) shopping day at Myeong dong haha
But let's talk about food (lunch) first haha
We went to my previously favorite Korean BBQ restaurant at Bukchang-dong (the area which I stayed in previously when I was in Seoul during January) which is near City Hall Station for some BBQ meat for lunch!! #nomnom haha
This powder is specially for the pig skin which they call Ggupdaegi :)
This is how Ggupdaegi looks for this particular store!! :) Every Korean BBQ restaurants have their own individual style of marinating their dishes! :)
We ordered Pork Neck meat on top of the pig skin as well! :)
They both taste super good but the standard has dropped slightly because the meat previously literally melt in my mouth when I first put them in my mouth! But I didn't have this kind of sensation anymore this time round which is a little disappointing :/
But the meat is still worth trying I promise :)
Directions to Saemaeul Restaurant: Alight at City Hall Station and go out from Exit 8. Once you're out turn left and cross a small road you will be encounter two traffic lights in one huge 4-way intersection. Use the traffic light on your right and cross over and walk straight until you see a sign that says Bukchang-dong food alley and turn right! Continue to walk straight and the restaurant will be about one building away from the Irene Hotel on your left side. :)
After our meal, we went to Namdaemun gate 2 and wanted to get a super famous Vegetables Hotteok but it was all sold out by then (and it was just around 4pm man)!! Sobs will show you guys the Hotteok next time round!! >_<
So we decided to move on and go to Myeongdong straight!
But as I didn't get to eat my favorite Hotteok, I decided to give Issac sandwich a try!!
Ordered the one with bacon haha. I've always wanted to try their sandwich cuz they always smell so good whenever I pass by their shop!!! And yes they really taste good (Y) You need to try it if you're in Seoul!! They have many outlets but the outlet I've so far went to is the Myeong dong and Edae area ones :)
Afterwhich we went for a little shopping spree around Myeong Dong hahaha
And we ended up walking to this place unknowingly:
Myeong dong Cathedral! A beautiful and peaceful place located at a super busy shopping district haha
That wraps up Day #06! It was a pretty chill day hahaha
But Day #07 is a super long day!! >_<
We visited Insadong on Day #07 but I shall start of with an OOTD of Day #07 haha :)
At the Anguk station! :) They have art work displayed along the walls!
Insadong!!~~~
Exit from exit 6 at Anguk Station to reach Insadong :)
The famous Ssamziegil at Insadong! :)
In Ssamziegil, there is a cafe at the top floor where couples can tie love tags onto the walls of the walkway! The concept is similar to the Namsan Tower love locks! :)
I swear man, Kim Soo Hyun is EVERYWHERE wherever we go in Seoul hahaha! He's really popular now here in Korea
All the shops are in Korean wordings here in Insadong, even Etude House!!
Got some street food while roaming around Insadong haha
There's rice cake (ddeok) at the center!!
As we continue to walk down Insadong, we encountered this place called the Avenue of Youth!!
Not sure if it's because of the timing we visited this place (we came at around 4pm), but it was pretty empty at that time O.O
So there wasn't much to see sadly so we went ahead to have dinner at Yoogane!! :)
It taste quite nice but I still prefer Samgyupsal more than this! The price is 8000KRW for 1 pax! It's pretty cheap!
There's an outlet of Yoogane newly opened here in Singapore as well but I'm not sure about the pricing in SG though (pretty sure it will be much higher than Korea though :/ Korean cuisine is not cheap in SG).
After dinner, we walked to Bukchon Village and Samcheongdong to take a look at their traditional hanok houses and it's by far my favorite place (in terms of sight seeing) here in Seoul! :)
It's such a perfect place to take nice pictures man!!! <3
Pictures time!! haha :)
Sweet street art! :)
Can you spot the Namsan Seoul Tower in this pic?? :D
Do rmb not to make loud noises when you're at Bukchon Village because there are actual households living in those hanok houses!! :)
I took a lot more pictures of Bukchon Village and Samcheongdong than what is featured in this blog post actually (around 500++ number of pictures!!) but there's just too many of them so I had to pick out the ones that shows the best essences of the place! >_<
Our final stop was Changdeokgung haha but by the time we finished covering Bukchon Village, Changdeokgung was closed already though >_<
But we get to take a pic of Changdeokgung during sunset! Really love the view and scene :)
After that, me and YX were both damn shagged because Bukchon Village was much bigger than we thought it will be! So we decided to just take a local bus back to Ewha instead of taking the subway because we did not want to transfer lines to get back to Edae Station. It can be quite tiring to transfer lines in Seoul Metro because there's just so many lines and most importantly, A LOT of staircase to climb! *sweat*
This is how their local bus looks like haha and that was how day #07 ended :)
Now moving on to Day #08!!
As we were damn tired after walking so much for the past days, we decided to take a chill pill on Day #08 and went to catch Transformers 4 at Megabox Sinchon!! :)
It's the nearest movie theaters to our dormitories in Edae! Around 5-10mins walk only haha
First off: lunch with the awesome Kimbap that Ewha POSCO cafeteria makes haha
I chose to try the cheese flavor one but I still prefer the traditional Tuna flavor one! It's much nicer :)
The shortcut route to Sinchon from Edae!! :) It's filled with graffiti!! :D
At Megabox!!
Just like Cathay Cineleisure, they have a particular auditorium that is catered to couples!! The design is really cute with the heart shape hahaha
If you're not local or if you do not have their local card payments on hand, you will need to get a queue number and wait for your turn before you can purchase your movie tickets!!
Movie ticket!!
While waiting for the show to start, let us take a selfie! hahaha
Anyway, the sound system of the theater is super awesome compared to Singapore theaters!! ^_^
And just a brief review of Transformers 4 (spoiler ahead!!):
It is god damn long with good graphics and actions, but I tell you, the dialogs in the movie is just TOTALLY AWKWARD (and sometimes boring and annoying -.-)!! Especially the part where the girl just went straight to hug her boyfriend instead of her father when it's her father who's putting hell lot of effort to try to save her from the space ship man!!! The scene is super awkward imo and it's so annoying to see her not appreciating her father's effort. >:(
Anyhoo, moving on!!
For dinner, we went to SE7EN restaurant Yeolbong Jjimdak at the Edae outlet!!
The restaurant was empty even though it was dinner time!! O.O
Lots of celebrities pictures hung on the walls haha
Waiting for our food!!
One thing I will need to say, it didn't taste as good as (in fact it tasted much worse) how I first had it previously during my time in Korea back in January!!! >_< It used to taste super nice!!! :(
It maybe because we visited a different outlet from the one I visited previously which resulted in the drastic difference in standards though. I visited the Gangnam outlet previously!
The sauce wasn't as savory and the noodles was way too rubbery to chew that YX almost choked on it!!
So just a word of advice, don't visit the Edae outlet for Yeolbong Jjimdak and be sure to chew the noodles thoroughly before swallowing it down!!
It should have been a red light sign for us when there were no customers during dinner rush hours!!! :(
That's the end of Day #08! :)
I hope you guys enjoyed this post and do stay tune for future posts!! :)
Ciao~~~
