Ewha Summer Studies Day #02: Welcome Ceremony x Samgyupsal PEACE Buddy Dinner

Good day guys!! I'm back with Day #02 for my stay here in Seoul for my Summer Studies program at Ewha University (will be here from 23rd June to 24th July)! :D

Starting off with beautiful views of the campus!!!

The architecture and design of the campus is really awesome, especially when the weather is really good! It makes the view of the campus breathtakingly beautiful! :D

Behind the scenes of my #ootd on my instagram haha! A lot has been chopped off from the pics on instagram. Anyhoo, I'm really liking this top I bought on my first day very much haha. It has a little bit of white and blue lace on it which makes it look really cute!! ^_^ I even went back to buy another one of the same top but in Navy color this time haha! And I'm ultra loving my new hair!!!! <3

Selfie first thing in the morning before our Welcome Ceremony and orientation!

Btw, my skin has been breaking out pretty bad since I've gotten here. >_< Have yet to find out the reason yet though! Had to use the Laneige Pore Control BB Cushion to sort of cover up my some of my ugly scars (but still, some are too jialat to be covered)! >_<

My first breakfast here in Seoul! Instant vegetable porridge! Taste healthy (bland tbh haha).

At the Welcome ceremony! :)
Lots of students from all over the world haha

Ewha organized a luncheon for us haha!

The food looks delicious to be honest, but the taste is just 5/10! >_< You really cannot judge a book from its cover haha. But I really appreciate that they prepare lunch for us ^_^

After the Welcome Ceremony, we went for a campus tour and went back to dorm to rest awhile before going out again to meet our PEACE buddies for dinner (a.k.a ice breaking session imo)! :)

They brought us to a Samgyupsal restaurant (forgot to take down the name of the restaurant so sorry!! >_<) located in Sinchon so me and YX had our 2nd round of walking from Ewha to Sinchon hahaha. It's not so tiring though on our 2nd time :)

Each PEACE buddy is usually paired with 3 international students. So the PEACE buddies (who are friends with each other) sort of combined all of their individual buddies together and have dinner together. :)

And yeah they ordered soju!! :P

Samgyupsal with kimchi which has been fermented for 2 years! Usually the normal kimchi which they served is only fermented for about 1 year. The 2 year old ones will taste a little more sour and softer. I personally prefer the 2 year old ones haha. Taste so good with the meat!! :)

One new discovery for me is usually Koreans will eat either Doen Jang Jji Gae 된장찌개 (which is known also as Soy Bean Paste Stew) with rice or Naeng Myeon 냉면 after having BBQ meat!! :)

That's what my buddy told me haha. I really didn't know that the actual way of eating is like this :O

Anyway I ordered Soy Bean Paste Stew cuz I love hot soups <3

The rice that came along with it is their traditional type of healthy rice also! Taste nicer than white rice in my opinion haha. We had to top up 1000 won for the soup and rice, the price is rather reasonable actually ^_^

The restaurant owner gave us free Korean Yakult and fruits (cherry tomatoes to be exact) as well for dessert haha. Didn't managed to take a photo of the fruits >_<

The restaurant had walls that you can write a message on so I just had to write one! :D

At the end of the day, I bought a can of their luncheon meat to try it out and see what's the difference with Singapore's! (Partly also because I was craving for some luncheon meat haha)

Wanted to blog Day #02 together with Day #03 but I had too many pictures to share for my third day so I have to split them!! >_< So sorry!!

In the mean time, if you've yet to check out Day #00 - #01 of my trip, be sure to check it out!! ^_^
